Long-term customer loyalty with high-quality cooling lubricants

Kurt Betz relies on quality and service from Zeller+Gmelin

The company Kurt Betz from Leingarten near Heilbronn has been our loyal customer for 6 years and uses different lubricants from Zeller+Gmelin for a range of machining processes.

Kurt Betz GmbH was founded in 1980 and has been supplying its customers in the electrical and automotive industries with customized systems and equipment for 40 years. Starting out with small table crimping machines, Betz has now developed into an internationally active company with 95 employees in special machine construction. With remote maintenance, Betz serves its customers' machine systems located all over the world centrally from Leingarten. Remote maintenance and diagnostics on the systems ensure smooth service quality.

Betz has established itself on the market with its very high quality and pays particular attention to the flawless manufacture of its products. The flawless production and quality of the systems is the family company's performance promise.

Kurt Betz came across Zeller+Gmelin at Paul Horn's Technology Day in Tübingen. At the time, production was having problems with the cooling lubricant used at the time. There was a new change in the law which stipulated that cooling lubricants had to be boron-free and free of formaldehyde splitting. This prompted cooling lubricant manufacturers to change the ingredients. At the time, Betz was still using one of our competitors' products, which they were no longer satisfied with after the change in ingredients. The short service life led to problems in production and thus to unpleasant odors in the systems, which were no longer acceptable. The need to decide on a new lubricant was getting closer and closer.

Process engineer Ralf Schutzbier from Kurt Betz used the technology day at Paul Horn to look around for alternatives and ultimately decided to test our Zubora 65 H Plus cooling lubricant. "We have been in close contact with Zeller+Gmelin ever since," says Schutzbier. Initially, the coolant was tested on a small 20-liter machine and then increased to 200-liter machines until the entire production line was ultimately equipped with the coolant.

Our Zubora 67 H Plus is now used at Betz wherever machining is involved - whether for milling, turning, drilling or grinding. Our Zubora cooling lubricant is now used on 4 lathes, 12 milling machines and 7 grinding machines. The largest milling machine contains 1200 liters of cooling lubricant.

As Kurt Betz is active in special machine construction, the lubricant has to cover a lot - from micromachining to heavy-duty cutting. In all machining processes - from aluminum to copper, steel, brass and plastic - the predecessor products have been replaced by the mineral oil-based cooling lubricant Zubora. In addition to cooling lubricants, Kurt Betz also uses hydraulic and bedway oils from Zeller+Gmelin.

Mr. Schutzbiet from Kurt Betz says: "In addition to the cooling lubricants, we have gradually switched to all oils from Zeller+Gmelin. We know that we can rely on the quality and the advice." Before the changeover, Betz had a large list of cooling lubricant suppliers for the various applications. In addition to Betz's versatile product range, this was also due to the wide range of materials that most suppliers did not fully cover. However, such a long list of suppliers was not only confusing, but also inefficient. Schutzbier says: "It was important for us to have a contact partner that covers as much as possible and is reliable. In Zeller+Gmelin, we have found a reliable and competent supplier through whom we can cover large quantities for a wide range of applications."

"With Zubora, we no longer have to change our cooling lubricant because it tips over and stinks. We are delighted with the longevity of the products."

Process technician Ralf Schutzbier also emphasizes that the maintenance intervals for the cooling lubricant have been significantly extended since the switch to Z+G. "With Zubora, we no longer have to change our cooling lubricant because it tips over and stinks. We are delighted with the longevity of the products," he says. For him, Zeller+Gmelin is characterized by its good delivery performance, reliable order processing and outstanding product quality. Above all, however, he values the excellent service and personal contact with the sales force, which he can rely on at all times, regardless of the issue.

We would like to thank Kurt Betz for his loyalty and look forward to working with him in the future!
