Lubricant specialist Zeller+Gmelin will be presenting its comprehensive expertise in the field of wire drawing at wire 2024 in Düsseldorf. Visitors to stand A19 in hall 9 will be able to see the innovative range of cooling lubricants for themselves. The focus will be on the drawing agent concentrates from the Multidraw series. The fact that sustainability and performance do not have to be at odds with each other is another focal point of the trade fair appearance of the long-established Eislingen-based company, which has been producing climate-neutrally for years.
"wire is the world's most important trade fair for the wire drawing industry and always attracts numerous trade visitors from abroad, which is why we are delighted to be represented with a stand again - after all, we have also done a lot in the last two years," says Markus Mühleisen, Strategic Business Unit Manager at Zeller+Gmelin. He is referring to the constantly growing product range of cooling lubricants for wire production, which now incorporate more than six decades of experience in the wire drawing segment. The lubricant laboratories in Eislingen work closely with their customers to ensure that innovative solutions are constantly being developed for users. These now range from wire drawing media for copper wire rod, copper and aluminum alloys, to steel, stainless steel and steel cord.
Durable even under extreme conditions
One of the high-performance wire drawing agents on show, for example, is "Multidraw CU MF T" for copper wire production. The drawing agent concentrate for medium and fine drawing is water-miscible and, according to Zeller+Gmelin, is not only suitable for bare copper, but also excellent for drawing tinned wires in medium and fine drawing. The product is also characterized by improved lubricity with very low foaming. The formulation used also ensures excellent long-term stability of the emulsion and pH value.
Markus Mühleisen emphasizes: "With our long-lasting Multidraw products, we can cover the entire range of lubricants for wire drawing. Our users achieve maximum drawing speeds while their machines remain clean and virtually wear-free. Our research and development department is continuously working on innovative solutions that protect the environment and improve our customers' processes."
Climate-neutral and resource-saving
Zeller+Gmelin is also placing the latter at the center of its trade fair presence. "Sustainable concepts relating to responsibility towards our environment and the conscientious use of resources are central components of our corporate philosophy," emphasizes Markus Mühleisen. Together with its subsidiary Südöl, the long-established company has been recycling industrial lubricants for years. Another project to conserve resources involves the reconditioning of used drums and containers in a kind of recycling loop. Reconditioned drums not only conserve material resources, but also have a significantly lowerCO2 footprint than newly manufactured drums.
With these and many other measures, the manufacturer has been working intensively for years to improve its carbon footprint and has been the first chemical company in Baden-Württemberg to be able to call itself a "climate-neutral site" since January 2020. "We are also happy to talk about this with trade fair visitors, because green supply chains are becoming increasingly important, especially in our target markets."
