Temperature-resistant biohydraulic oil for use in construction, agriculture and forestry

Whether excavators, harvesters or snow groomers: With Divinol SynthoHyd Eco 46, lubricant manufacturer Zeller+Gmelin presents a high-performance biohydraulic oil for use in construction, forestry and agricultural machinery. The low-consumption, biodegradable lubricant ensures maximum service life and can be used all year round at both extremely low and high temperatures thanks to its temperature stability.

Divinol SynthoHyd Eco 46 was recently awarded the EU Ecolabel by independent testing agencies for its environmentally friendly formulation. “At the same time, we’re setting new standards in terms of performance,” emphasizes Andreas Krapf, Product Manager for Lubricants at Zeller Gmelin. “Improved lubricating properties noticeably extend service life while reducing resource consumption: Oil change intervals are longer, and under normal conditions, service life of up to 10,000 hours can be expected.” To achieve maximum service life, the oil should simply be filtered occasionally, or its use should be monitored through regular laboratory oil analyses.

Reliable even in extreme temperature ranges

To meet the diverse operating conditions in the construction, forestry, and agricultural sectors, the biohydraulic oil is formulated with additives that protect against aging, corrosion, and wear. Its tailored and balanced viscosity profile also enables a wide operating temperature range. Thanks to the characteristics of the synthetic base oil, no gumming or deposits occur due to thermal oil degradation, even at higher operating temperatures. Product Manager Andreas Krapf explains: “Our new hydraulic oil has a temperature range of -25°C to 110°C and thus ideally covers the standard operating range—even peak temperatures of 120°C or 130°C are no problem.” Although the product can also handle higher temperature ranges over the long term, the classic rule applies here: a 10°C increase in temperature shortens service life by 50 percent. “With conventional hydraulic oils, oxidation products lead to deposits in the system. Divinol SynthoHyd Eco 46 protects machines significantly better than standard oils in this regard—we were recently able to demonstrate this in the Cincinnati P70 test, a well-known method for measuring oil sludge formation that is conducted at 135°C.”

Properties of Divinol SynthoHyd Eco46:
