Lubricant specialist Zeller+Gmelin is expanding its Divinol commercial vehicle range with two innovative HD engine oils that meet the ever-increasing demands of manufacturers. The product range now includes Divinol Multimax LS-FE 5W30 with the new API specification FA-4 and manufacturer approval MB 228.61 as well as Divinol Multimax Premium FE 5W20 with the manufacturer’s release MAN 3977. Both products are particularly suitable for heavy-duty diesel truck engines, including turbochargers and exhaust gas aftertreatment systems.
When it comes to lubricants for vehicles and machines, users worldwide rely on Zeller+Gmelin. Since 1866, the long-established Eislingen-based company has been developing and producing solutions that set new standards in terms of performance, reliability and efficiency. “Efficiency and sustainability are important economic factors for today’s companies and naturally also affect the lubricants used, such as engine oils for commercial vehicles,” says Andreas Krapf, Automotive Product Manager at Zeller+Gmelin. “We are therefore presenting our global customer base with two high-performance commercial vehicle engine oils that meet these new requirements: With their lowered viscosity in SAE grades 5W30 and 5W20, they are suitable for use in low SAPS engines, where they are also suitable for longer oil change intervals.”
The basis for the new Divinol products is the modern oil technology known as low-SAPS or low-ash. This contains fewer additives containing sulphur and phosphorus and also tends to form less ash, so it ensures trouble-free and longer-lasting operation, especially for catalytic converters and particle filters.
“The global use of exhaust gas aftertreatment systems such as catalytic converters and particulate filters automatically leads to an increasing trend towards low-ash, low-SAPS engine oils,” emphasizes Andreas Krapf. “This has long been reflected in the ACEA specifications and in the individual approvals of vehicle manufacturers. As a manufacturer and supplier, we naturally follow this development and try to combine this with efficiency, performance and service life in our products.”
Low fuel consumption and resource-saving
Divinol Multimax LS-FE 5W30 and Divinol Multimax Premium FE 5W20, for example, have a significantly reduced HTHS viscosity (HTHS – High Temperature High Shear). Compared to HD engine oils with conventional viscosity, for example, this enables considerable fuel savings without impairing the wear protection of the engine. “This not only makes them more economical to use, but also more sustainable and leads to lower exhaust emissions,” explains Andreas Krapf – but also emphasizes: “Both new Multimax engine oils are not backwards compatible. Users should therefore take a look at the technical information in advance to see whether their vehicles are only designed for standard viscosity – we have other products for this, which we will be happy to advise you on.”
