Lubricant that is gentle on the skin

Skin-friendly lubricant for machining

Zeller+Gmelin had already announced last year that it would systematically remove water-miscible cooling lubricants containing boric acid from its product range. The Zubora 77 series is the next high-performance lubricant for metal cutting that is both healthy and environmentally friendly. According to the lubricant manufacturer, water-miscible cooling lubricants without boric acid are in no way a contradiction to maximum cutting performance with a long service life.

What do cooling lubricants and occupational safety have to do with each other? Quite simply: if employees come into contact with it, it should not cause any health problems such as skin irritation. With a growing portfolio of boric acid-free alternatives, lubricant expert Zeller+Gmelin is once again underlining its commitment as a manufacturer to health protection and sustainability. The development laboratory in Eislingen is constantly working on continuously increasing the proportion of sustainable, resource-saving and, above all, health and environmentally friendly lubricants. The new boron-free, semi-synthetic, water-miscible high-performance cooling lubricants in the Zubora 77 series also make an important contribution to health and safety in metal cutting.

Skin-friendly and process-safe

The formulation of the new Zubora products not only dispenses with boron, formaldehyde releasers and monoethanolamine (MEA), but also with ingredients that, according to current knowledge, have an increased sensitizing potential, such as abietic acid and rosin. Skin compatibility” was therefore a key criterion during development. With special additives, the MWFs have beendeliberatelyformulated to meet the growing requirements in the area of occupational health and safety. The resulting good skin compatibility has been proven by dermatological tests.

An innovative formulation makes the cooling lubricants particularly stable over the long term and measurably extends tool life. In addition, highly effective additives make the new lubricants reliable even in the most difficult machining processes – even with small component geometries and diameters and high step speeds. And the good rinsing properties of Zubora lubricants also support chip removal and thus ensure greater machine cleanliness and increased process reliability.
