Our customer, Achertäler Druckerei, has achieved impressive success at this year’s FINAT Label Award in Athens. With a label printed using our innovative TORACURE W580 ink series, the print shop won three prizes, including a top prize!
The FINAT Label Awards 2024 ceremony took place in Athens on May 22. Achertäler Druckerei GmbH & Co KG took part in this prestigious event and took home three first prizes. The award-winning labels are from a mini-series designed by a young artist from Ortenau for a limited edition Pinot Noir from the Waldulmer Winzergenossenschaft winegrowers’ cooperative.
The label took first place in the “Combination Printing Processes” category. The jury was so impressed by the technical printing implementation that the labels not only received the Groupwinner title in the “Printing Processes” category, but also the coveted “Best in Show” award.

The excellent printing result was achieved in a multi-stage process:
- 3c Pantone
- Matt black & gloss black
- Rotary screen printing with neon orange to recreate the ink application, the gloss effects and the original colors used
- Relief embossing for partial reproduction of brushstrokes and paint application areas
- Relief gloss varnish for special parts of the picture (such as pupils and earrings)
These special printing techniques made it possible to realize the artist’s creative visions in great detail and at the same time ensure the high quality that convinced the jury.
